Vintage Mexican 900 Silver Sombrero Trinket or Jewelry Tray/Dish with Floral Snake Motif. Early embossed eagle mark and intaglio 0900 mark, likely 1940s or earlier. Untested, sold as-is.
Measures 4 1/2" diameter and 2" high, weighing 76.2 grams. Excellent condition considering age. Features flowers and leaves in repousse against a textured background. The eagle carrying off a snake is hand incised.
Rope border around the brim with a laid-on braided silver rope hat band. Stamped 'MEXICO' with hallmarks beneath. Repoussé is a metalworking technique using hand-hammering from the reverse side to create a low relief design. Perfect for collectors of Mexican silver or vintage jewelry trays.
