The gantry design allows wheel sets to roll through the lathe on workshop rails. The mechanical elements and drive system are designed for cutting performance up to 32 mm² per tool station. This ensures short floor-to-floor time for re-profiling, even under extreme wheel wear conditions. Headstocks are mounted on each side of the gantry type bed, with integrated drivers, centers and a main drive system mounted on each headstock. Both headstocks are movable for ease of loading and unloading functions.
